This Experience takes place at Home & Park Motorhomes in Kitchener. They manufacture the Roadtrek, the #1 selling Class B Motorhome (Camper Van) in North America. In making these units, the company has developed a H & S fabric in its culture that permeates the facility. This culture has resulted in their current record of 1.3 million hours with no lost time accidents. They will host the Experience which will be facilitated by Mr. Douglas Grischow, AME Champions Club Leader, and former Vice President of Manufacturing for Dare Foods. |
| Description: |
This interactive day will provide insights from 3 leading organizations and how they are growing sustainable H&S cultures. The learning will use attendee discussions - both individually and in teams to flesh out emerging issues such as ergonomics and the coming inspection process launched by the governments. The day with be interspersed by presentations followed by team discussions that are directed toward understanding the concepts as well as discovering tools and how they can be applied upon return to the participants’ facility. The day will conclude with each team developing typical implementation approaches that have a high probability of working. |

The session is designed for leader/practitioners who are in charge, or who strongly influence the nature and scope of H & S operations in their companies. As leaders in their respective companies, the day will focus on helping to equip them with new tools while they themselves assist others to understand the application of their successful practices. Upon completion of this Experience, attendees will:
- Learn how progressive companies are developing pragmatic yet different approaches to the growth of a H & S culture that is sustainable
- See first-hand how one company has developed a facility-wide support infrastructure that has achieved a remarkable 1.3 million hour no lost time accident record in a fabrication environment
- Understand how a world leading company is changing its H & S culture in a tough Repair, Maintenance and Overhaul environment and the results achieved to date.
- Appreciate the issues around Ergonomic solutions and how they may be achieved at low cost
- Be aware of the coming impact of ERGO inspections and their effect on business and the preparations to consider
- Through team interactions, resolve issues, and draft a model 30-Day & 60-Day implementation plan to apply the appropriate lessons learned and solutions encountered in this ALE.

Duration
and Dress Requirements : |
One day. Bus will depart the Conference at 8:00 am and will return to the point of departure at the conference at 5:15 pm. Comfortable business casual attire is required. To participate in the facility tour attendees must have closed shoes and no high heels. All meals and refreshments will be provided. Sign in documents and an agreement to abide by the safety rules must be completed. The host company reserves the right to preclude participants from this event. |
