| Topic: |
Achieving a Sustainable Visual Workplace |
| Overview: |
This unique ALE will enable attendees to see two companies well along the journey to World Class with innovative approaches to establishing the standards needed for a visual workplace. Participants will begin their ALE, at the Conference Center, then move to Blue Bird in Brantford. Lunch will be provided on the bus as they move from Blue Bird to the second site, Eaton Electrical in Milton. Participants will hear and see the “What” and “Why” issues faced by both companies in going ‘visual’. In addition, participants will experience the “How” issues faced in implementing and sustaining a Visual Workplace. |
| Description: |
This team-based interactive day will involve ‘learn-by-doing’ activities that illustrate how to drive 5S into the culture. At Blue Bird you will get to experience the process necessary to create a Visual Workplace. Using a 5-S approach participants will be exposed to many of the tools used to make the process sustainable. Upon arrival at Eaton, a methodical plant tour will also demonstrate the use of many tools and how visual standards are maintained by the application of a through auditing process. Approaches for ensuring plants throughout the world have the same standards will be shared. Participants will execute their own audit separately with a lively discussion to follow that will illustrate the power of discussing each others scores. Emphasis on an agreed process and a no-blame environment will be shared. |
Who Should Attend: |
The session is designed for leader/practitioners who are in charge, or who strongly influence the nature and scope of H & S operations in their companies. As leaders in their respective companies, the day will focus on helping to equip them with new tools while they themselves assist others to understand the application of their successful practices. Those who are open to new ideas, and find value in exchanging ideas and solutions, will find this day of value. |
