Workshop Description:

Learn advanced techniques to apply lean in ‘Real-Life’ manufacturing where demand changes each day, cycle times are different for each product, spaghetti flow exist through shared resources, and product customization may exist. This advanced workshop will cover creating lean value streams in these complex environments. Learn topics such as: mix intervals, mix logic charts, floating Pitch and others to create value streams that flow at the pull of the customer.

  • Determine part families for flow
  • Calculate Machine Loading and E.P.E.I.

Biography:

Kevin Duggan

Kevin Duggan is the president of Duggan & Associates Inc. He is also a faculty member for the Lean Enterprise Institute and an instructor the University of Michigan. In 2002, Kevin authored his first book on creating lean future states in complex environments titled Creating Mixed Model Value Streams. His company presently teaches this class and other advanced lean classes such as Creating Flow through Shared Resources,Lean Office Value Streams, Practical Lean Supply Chains, and Lean Product Development to help companies in applying lean in their real life, complex manufacturing environments. Kevin has mentored many executives of major companies on their lean journey including United Technologies, Sikorsky Aircraft, and Pratt & Whitney, IDEX Corporation, Messier-Dowty, GKN, Singapore Airlines, Whirlpool, United Airlines, Parker Hannifin, Goodrich, The Timken Company, and others. His dynamic ability to teach lean in complex environments has made him a sought after speaker at many public and private conferences.
