Siemens Laserworks is a custom manufacturer of components and assemblies for customers servicing every major industry sector, including Oil & Gas, Agricultural Implements, Industrial OEM’s, and Electronics & Computer OEMs. We use CNC lasers, press brakes, punches, multi-axis machining centers, robotic EMI dispensers, CNC plate rolls, and various other types of fabricating equipment to service our customer’s needs. We have over 600 active customers with more than 750,000 active part numbers, for customers located throughout western Canada and the USA.

Siemens began introducing LEAN manufacturing principles in our production as a means of increasing throughput while reducing inventory – raw materials, hardware, finished goods, and WIP. Our initial primary focus was on single part flow – always in a just-in-time fashion. Pull system inventory replenishment is driven by kanban – both in production KBs and supply KBs.

Siemens offers our customers procurement alternatives different than the common batch & queue philosophy – we provide JIT delivery in kit format, set up and on-going replenishment using kanban signals, and very short lead time cycles.
