Presentation
Abstract :
This presentation is an overview of the lean journey that Paintearth Energy Services has embarked on in the last 3 years. It covers success, failure, key milestones and the steps being taken to become a world class manufacturer. We will begin by outlining the difficulties and challenges faced at the initial kickoff and the defining moment that truly began the lean initiative. From there we will continue to the first successful project and the trials and struggles that were overcome in the time leading up to and following that success. Ideas and concepts that were found useful in achieving the company’s projected goals, as well as how they were applied will be discussed. We will demonstrate how to “take that first step” and continue “putting one foot in front of the other” in order to gain and maintain momentum in the never ending lean journey. The critical interaction between departments will be examined as a “backbone” of success, combined with a growing company wide culture. Examples of cultural change will be shown as a vital component for any company who is embarking on their own journey, and we will share some of our thoughts and reflections on the steps taken, and sometimes lost, in an effort to develop that culture. Lastly the focus will shift to our upcoming projects and trials and dilemmas in front of us, the “Fallout of Success”, where Paintearth Energy is headed, and how we are applying what we know to where we are going. As each topic is covered you will hear the staff testimonials on their views of lean and how the journey has affected them personally. The story will be told by our people because the story was created by our people; the success of lean depends on it.
