Abstract :
This presentation will follow the journey a real case study of a company that has come from traditional North American manufacturing methods to become a “lean” manufacturing company. Although the journey is far from over, in 18 months Scona Trailer Manufacturing has made a “quantum leap” in the way they view manufacturing and have already experienced the financial and human benefits of the change. This presentation will include the not only the “upside” of the journey so far, but will also discuss the challenges and hurdles that are faced along the way.

Biography:

Jim Rakievich, President & Chief Executive Officer

Jim Rakievich is the President and Chief Executive Officer of McCoy since 2002. He has held several senior management positions with McCoy since 1996, including Service Manager, Vice President of Service Operations and Chief Operating Officer for the corporation. Prior to McCoy, Jim was the Western Regional Service Manager for a large Canadian transportation company (9 yrs).

Jim's first profession was a Heavy Duty Mechanic and completed my Journeyman status through the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). He has also completed an Executive Management Program at the JJ Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University in Chicago Ill.
