How to Create a Lean Formula for TPM in Your Plant

Workshop Description:

Moving from reactive maintenance and run to failure mode to a more total productive and preventative maintenance in a lean environment will be covered. Specific topics addressed will be CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems), spare parts inventory and maintenance, operator training and preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance techniques and the contribution of 5S+1 to uptime. Also, how to create PM’s, mechanic involvement and VTPM or Visual TPM will be presented.

Specific Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this interactive simulation, participants will learn:

  • Change their maintenance from reactive to proactive and predictive
  • Develop Visual TPM process
  • Leverage 5S+1 to improved uptime and reliability
  • Determine how to handle “monuments” and justify capital to increase throughput

Biography:

Jerry Wright

Jerry Wright joined DJO (formerly dj Orthopedics) in 1997 and has held leadership positions in maintenance, engineering and operations. Jerry Wright is currently the Director of Corporate QA & Operational Excellence at the company’s headquarters in Vista, California. At DJO, he was one of the key change leaders that helped to introduce lean thinking and transformed the company from a traditional batch and queue manufacturer to a world-class, lean enterprise. In 2005, DJO was honored as one of the IndustryWeek Top Ten Best Plants in North America. The Product Development Management Association (PDMA) awarded DJO the Outstanding Corporate Innovator (OCI) Award in 2005. This year, DJO Vista Operations is a 2006 Shingo Prize Recipient for Excellence in Manufacturing. Jerry Wright holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and has his Professional Engineer license from the State of California
